Carnival – Journal of the International Students of History Association (ISHA) vol. 16 (2014/15)

The editorial board of CARNIVAL invites students (undergraduate, graduate and doctoral) from all disciplines with an interest in historical science to submit articles for the upcoming double issue of our journal. The topics are taken from ISHA’s academic events in 2014: The New Year’s Seminar from Helsinki (Finland), the Annual Conference from Budapest (Hungary), and the upcoming events: the Week End Seminar in Sofia (Bulgaria), the Summer Seminar in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and the Autumn Seminar in Pula (Croatia) and the New Year Seminar that will be in Olomuc (Czech Republic). Those topics are: “Vice, Violence and Crime: conspicuous aspects of human society”, “Images of the Other: relation between Western and Central-Eastern Europe in History”, “Conflict situations and their consequences”, “Crises and Development”, “Revolutions”, “Associating throughout History”.

CARNIVAL is an historical journal which is published annually both in print and online. It is a unique chance for students to present their work to a large international audience. All submissions undergo a reviewing process, after which feedback is given. It is also possible to send in relevant book reviews or interviews.

Abstracts (max. 500 words) should briefly summarize the proposed topic, methodology and other relevant information. All contributors will be informed if their proposals were accepted. The eventual article or other contribution should not exceed 15 single-spaced standard pages. The final deadline for submitting articles is 1 September 2014. Contributions need to follow citation and formatting guidelines which will be provided after article acceptance. All contributors will be informed about the deadlines and formatting guidelines after sending their abstracts, or through an e-mail after each ISHA event.

For more information about CARNIVAL and the previous editions see the ISHA website www.isha-international.org. To send in your abstract or to ask any questions you can contact us at carnival@isha-international.org.
